Railway Group D Qualification Criteria

  • General Qualification: Candidates must have completed their 10th grade and possess an ITI certification.
  • Specific Vacancies: Some vacancies will be available for candidates who have only completed their 10th grade without an ITI certification.
  • Department-Specific: Certain departments will accept candidates with only a 10th pass qualification, while others will require both 10th pass and ITI or equivalent qualifications.

Railway Group D Recruitment Posts and Vacancy Distribution

Railway Group D Age Limit

  • General Candidates: The age limit for applicants is 18 to 33 years.

Railway Group D Selection Process

The selection process for the Railway Group D positions is based on given steps:

  1. Computer-Based Test (CBT): This will be the initial stage, involving a written examination.
  2. Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates who qualify the CBT will proceed to the PET.
  3. Document Verification: Successful candidates will undergo document verification.
  4. Medical Examination: The final stage involves a medical examination to ensure candidates meet the health standards required for the positions.

Exam Syllabus of Railway Group D

The CBT will cover four sections:

  1. General Science: 25 questions
  2. Mathematics: 25 questions
  3. Reasoning and General Intelligence: 30 questions
  4. General Awareness and Current Affairs: 20 questions

Each question will carry one mark, making a total of 100 marks, and candidates will have 90 minutes to complete the test. Note that there is a negative marking of 1/3rd mark for each incorrect answer.

Railway Group D Physical Efficiency Test (PET)

  • Male Candidates: Required to carry a 35 kg weight for 100 meters within 2 minutes without dropping it. Additionally, they must complete a 1 km run in 4 minutes.

  • SC/ST/PwD/Ex-Servicemen: An application fee of INR 250, which is fully refundable after the examination.
